Ok people, this is gonna be a long one, I think...let us just put it this way...BON JOVI--there is no single word to describe this band or the man himself. Can you tell that I am a H U G E fan yet? lol When they released "Runaway" from their debut album in 1984, I have been HOOKED...line, sinker, even the bloody boat went with me! The songs in that album were addicting, not to mention the fact there there were several HOT band members, namely the namesake that made all the girls, teens, tweens, and adults, yes, even the grannies, MELT with lust, love and a whole lot of adoration! Of course, the band did not stop there,,oh no! They went on to release more successful albums such as 7800 degrees Fahrenheit, which had such hits as "Tokyo Road", "In and Out of Love", and then we all slipped and fell for "Slippery When Wet". Yeah, that album cover had some controversy, okay, a LOT of controversy since the very first and now rare cover was a picture of a well endowed female in a wet, ripped t-shirt with the title of the album written on the shirt-that got modified to one that was made on a wet trash bag instead...it does not really matter what the album art was..the music was what we were gunning for! At least that is what I was under the impression of, who knows! I could be wrong! And it would not be the first time, but that is besides the point!
So now that the hype for "Slippery When Wet" almost "dried up", (he he) they blasted through the 80's with "NEW JERSEY", I think it was an ode to their hometown/homestate, well, whichever it was, that album was the "ISH"!!! If you do not know what that means, it means that it was one of the greatest albums there was at that time, but that is just in my humble opinion, ok, maybe not so humble...but...yeah, back to talking about Bon Jovi...Anywho....the first song they released was, you know? I don't remember which song came first, but it doesn't really matter cuz the songs that were released from that album were "Lay Your Hands On Me" (and yes, all of us crazy female fans so badly wanted to do so!), "Bad Medicine", and "I'll Be There For You"-but I am addicted to all of their songs, so it doesn't really matter what song was released first, so there!
After 4 years of "Bon Jovi withdrawal" on my part, the boys from New Jersey did it again by releasing "Keep The Faith". OMG! Talk about a knock on your bum type of album after such a long hiatus! Whoohoo!! "Keep The Faith" was released first, (of course I'm gonna keep MY faith in Bon Jovi), and then "Bed of Roses"-in my opinion, that would be a bit prickly, but I digress, once again. Sorry!
Ok, where was I? Yeah, my "train of thought" left me at the station again! lol Ok, Bon Jovi-their next few albums I am not really familiar with, I'm sad to say, that's how long I've been entombed in my own little world, I'm back now! Their album "These Days", like I said, I don't know what songs came out of this one. However, "Crush" that followed had some good ones that I like too, such as "It's My Life"-I overplayed this song so much, my neighbors moved! lol Ok, I'm lying about them moving cuz I was playing that song too much and too loud-they were military, they got stationed somewhere else! lol And then came "Bounce", that was also the name of the song they released. I like this song too, but I controlled my obsession by only playing this one nice and loud on my iPod, that way, nobody moves away again! lol
"This Left Feels Right" is basically a remix of all of their greatest hits since "Runaway", that was kinda cool too. The video for "Have A Nice Day" cracked me up! Plus it's a good song too, especially when I'm feeling down or blue, just pissy...ok, it doesn't matter what kind of mood I'm in, I love this song! Another song from this album was a duet called "You Can't Go Home", and that had a pretty funny video too, Jon cannot install a bathroom medicine cabinet-that was hilarious! I'm sure he does better now! And I apologize for not remembering who the singer was on this duet! And I haven't seen or heard about their newest album that is coming out on November 10, 2009--can't wait though! I know that it will be a "kick ass" album, just like the rest of them!
